Gulliver’s 47 is a celebration of Samuel Gulliver’s adventures that began in 1747. These fine English single malts are a perfect marriage of the best local ingredients that combine to produce whiskies of unparalleled quality.
Our Bourbon cask is the first release from Samuel Gulliver & Co., distilled in Norfolk at the St. George’s Distillery exclusively for Gulliver’s. Matured in hand selected, unbroken ex-Bourbon casks that retain the integrity of the oak for a perfect aging process.
Distilled using Concerto Barley, a two-row variety grown in East Anglia which is then malted at Crisp malting’s in Norfolk, it starts its life in a one tonne mash and matures entirely in Ex-Bourbon casks.
IWSC 2020, GOLD Medal Winning Taste Notes (95pts)
‘A powerful blast of peat smoke on the nose, alongside subtler notes of light vanilla and floral heather; that characterful peat remains intense but is layered in fantastic balance with succulent tropical pineapple, building to a warming, peppery finish.’
World Whisky Masters 2020, MASTER Medal Winning Comments, Judge Billy Abbott
‘If you’d given me this entirely blind, I’d have said it was a very young, very good Islay whisky. Excellent balance of smoky sweetness, minerality, it was excellent.
This is a great everyday whisky, a classic Highball.’
